Obama Wants Immigration Reform Next
After the Health Reform Program, US President Barack Obama is now appealing to the Congress to move towards a “comprehensive immigration reform”. He notes that the absence of federal action will only encourage “misguided efforts” such as what happened in Arizona.
With support from both Republicans and Democrats in the Senate, Obama is attempting to renew the issue of immigration reform in Congress. He claims that his goal is not only to strengthen the borders, but also to address the fate of illegal immigrants in the United States.
“Surely we can all agree that when 11 million people are living here illegally, that’s unacceptable,” Obama said today at a naturalization ceremony for 24 members of the Armed Forces on the South Lawn of the White House. “The American people deserve a solution.”
